Main duties are the design of engineered to order custom MCA/SOLAS compliant hydraulic cranes developed in 3D using Solidworks for mega yachts 50m or larger. As the project engineer for a crane, every detail for each crane is organized in one central binder composed of Contract, design scripts, customer approval drawings, creation of BOM and parts list for production and service department, design of hydraulic schematics and sizing of HPU pumps and cylinders for articulation of the cranes and gangways, interfacing with the naval architect and Shipyard project manager for integration of our mechanical/electrical/hydraulic system into the marine vessel’s power systems. Other duties include FEA analysis of crane and gangway designs. My duties have include submittal of test reports, load calculations and documentation to classification societies ABS or Lloyds  for MCA-LY2 and SOLAS approvals of the cranes when required. Received one patent and I have a pending patent for lifting devices. One of my gangways was filmed for a upcoming episode of “How Its Made” on the discovery channel

 

 

Enser Corp, November 2002-January 2008, Mechanical Engineer II.  Designed manufacturing tooling for thermal battery production using Pro/E and AutoCAD to A.S.M.E. Y14.5 and GD&T standards in an ISO9001 and AS9100 manufacturing facility. Development of drawing packages/BOM’s of the various batteries in production and prototype stage for strategic and tactical weapon systems such as JSOW Block II, PAC-3, MSE, THAAD, Small Diameter Bomb, NLOS, EKV, SM3 TDACS, SM3 Third Stage, SM3 KW and AGS and JDAM.  Developed weld schedules and metallographic testing of weld samples. I designed and installed automated feed shoes on several hydraulic pellet presses of various sizes from 500 tons to 60 tons. Retrofitted two 500 ton Cincinnati presses via light curtain, addition of center quill and auto feed shoe upgrade. At Enser, I created tooling and fixtures for use in a Northstar Systems M500 Microfocus X-Ray used for real time testing and inspection of completed thermal batteries.  My duties also include designing environmental test fixtures for 3-axis shock/vibration shaker, 200G centrifuge, and a 20,000G air cannon for extreme G load testing and for our environmental test group. Maintained and revised physical plant layout for expansion of production floor, heat powder /lithium silicon production and environmental test facility. Laid out and designed a lithium-silicon production line and all tooling for use by a Kuka 5 axis robot inside an inert atmosphere environment.

Ingersoll & Ingersoll Tools, Inc., 1992-January 2010. Working weekends in family owned business specializing in tools and machinery. Tools range from mechanics hand tools to precision diagnostic test equipment, machinist tools and milling equipment. Performing sales and purchasing of inventory.

 

Hal-Tec Engineering, 1995-1998, Full-time RF/CATV designer using Microstation, AutoCAD and other programs to digitize/design hybrid coax cable nodes and fiber optic distribution networks for the cable television industry. Use various cad programs to convert paper maps, newbuilds of subdivisions and landbase additions to digital maps and designs and creation of a bill of material for construction costs. Projects have included local, national and international cable providers. While at Hal-Tec Engineering, promoted to head Microstation drafter and later to designer.

Main duties were supporting customer service personnel, shipping/receiving of blood pressure monitors and loaner requirements to customers, insured correct billing and pricing of repairs, maintaining computerized and paper records of service center's activities as required by Food and Drug Administration (FDA), inventory control of over two million dollars of parts and tracked special projects status, compiling data from stored/computer records into weekly reports for superiors.
